Jeff Breeze, friend to the entire New England music community, passed away unexpectedly on Monday. He was the host of WMBR's Pipeline! radio show. He was gracious enough to have us on that program more times that I can count. He had a big impact on me personally and I was shocked at his passing. I was supposed to put James to bed the night he died, but Hilary knew I was bummed out and she took care of it. I used that time to whisper this song together for Jeff.
lyrics
V1
All these things
Read much differently now
All those times
I left you holding on
Ch
To a line that you had sent my way
A reminiscence of better days
V2
I was pretty good
About getting back
But of course
A few fell through the cracks
Ch
Baritone selectric in the band
At the museum in his hands
---
V3
Give me something real
Something nobody sees
Because Out there
Someone is listening
Ch
To the noise we made down in this pit
What better use was there for it
V4
I sent a note
On the day he died
Now it’s me
Waiting for a reply
Be good out there
Because it could be goodbye
That we’ll have
To read between the lines
