RAZORCAKE:
Damn, guys. The second collection from this group gathers material from their incredible split LP with Bundles, a split 7" with Modern Saints, and a bunch of other unreleased and comp stuff from 2015-2017. I don't know what it is, maybe because they don't tour much, but this band is like the absolute poster child for "criminally underrated." They've put out out five albums and a bunch of 7"s over a decade and still remain relatively unknown in the States, which really sucks, because they're a fantastic band. Moving, precise, heartfelt, while still laid-backhand discernable. They've got garage leanings but aren't frantic. Melodies abound but the songs aren't cloying. Just a terrific, catchy band that writes songs about having a black cloud floating over your head. Glad this was released. -Keith Rosson (Gunner)

A collection of tracks recorded between 2015-2017, mostly previously released. This Boston band cranks out college-rock-meets-tuneful-punk-meets-indie-rock. Think early SOUL ASYLUM, DINOSAUR JR, and SUPERCHUNK with a range of tempos. It’s nice to have these tracks on one convenient CD. A very tuneful and underrated band.

TRACKS 1 and 2 were recorded by Dave Minehan at Rubber Tracks on August 05, 2015 and released as a split 7” with MODERN SAINTS.

Tracks 3-7 were recorded by Ryan Stack at Format Audio on July 21, 25, 26, 2015 and were released on a split 12” with BUNDLES.

Tracks 8-10 were recorded during the same sessions and were previously unreleased.

Tracks 11-6 were recorded by Baines Kluxen at Rubber Tracks on January 12, 2017 and were previously unreleased. Track 11 features an organ part by Adam Cissel.

Track 17 was recorded by Elio DeLuca at the Soul Shop on October 1, 2016 and was released on an Elliott Smith tribute titled, ‘A Brief Smile’. This track also features a vocal performance by Hilary Webb with piano by Elio DeLuca.

This compilation was mastered by Roland Weineger.

SHAWN HIGGINS did the cover art.

All selections written by DWatS except track 15 by the Paul Collins and track 17 by Elliott Smith.
